How do I shop for my kids when it comes to choosing toys or furniture? 

Aesthetics  - yes!
Fun factor - duh!
Functional - depends what it is, but usually it's a given!

So to answer - all three factors are a must when I shop for my kids and in some instances I'd like for it to match the general aesthetics of my home because let's face it - toys are usually sprawled across the house and moms are always cleaning up at the end of the day, or month! So the easier they are on the eyes, the better it is for everyone.
