International Children's Book Day (ICBD) is organised annually on 2nd April since 1967, by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), an international non-profit organization, to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children's books.
Twinkl, a platform that offers teacher-created resources, support and work with educators across the world, including primary and secondary teachers, childminders, nursery workers, home educators and parents. They have come up with a few suggestions on how to celebrate ICBD with some great resources here.

This year, we celebrate International Children's Book Day by selecting two of our favourite books to read to little ones aged 1-5 years old.
Somebody's Land by Adam Goodes and Ellie Laing is an accessible picture book for young children that introduces First Nations history and the term 'terra nullius' to a general audience, from Australian of the Year, community leader and anti-racism advocate Adam Goodes and political adviser and former journalist Ellie Laing, with artwork by Barkindji illustrator David Hardy.
